Focusing on digitalisation and Industry 4.0
Vehicles are becoming increasingly digitised and continue to be equipped with a variety of innovative assistance systems as a precursor to autonomous driving. But it is not only on the roads that this technology is ever more prevalent: in the logistics arena forklift trucks are benefitting from more and more digital „guardian angels“ which are making their operation much safer for both the workforce and equipment.
This is the basis for ELOKON’s product range, which hinges on an intelligent interplay of hardware, software, sensor and radio based technologies.
Our products preemptively recognise dangerous situations and semi-autonomously intervene, to slow down a forklift for example, thereby preventing accidents.
Using innovative Lidar or RFID technology, the trucks recognise the presence of pedestrians in the vicinity. Trucks communicate with each other by radio – known in the automotive sector as „car -to-car“ or they communicate via sensors with the infrastructure – known as „car-to-X“, to ascertain their position in relation to pedestrians or other trucks in real time.

My way to ELOKON
It all began after school with my training to become a motor vehicle mechatronics technician. After completing my training I moved to the field of Material Handling Equipment. The technical diversity of Material Handling Equipment in and the interaction of electrics, mechanics and hydraulics is what particularly interests me.
A little over two years later I changed to another company which specialices in industrial furnaces. However, after completing the master school, I realised that I wanted to to go back to the field of Material Handling Equipment. Why? This sector offers a tremendously diverse range of opportunities: new technologies and working in a sector that is always the the cutting edge of technology really fascinates me.
I arrived here at ELOKON through a good friend who is associated with the company. He told me that the working atmosphere at the company is really positive and that the technicians really know their stuff. After some research, I sent ELOKON my application and was invited to a personal meeting.
My tasks as a service technician include commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting of our Personal Protection and Assistance Systems at the customer's location. In so doing, the legal requirements and the customer requests are mechanically and electronically implemented. Each customer has different requirements and installations. This makes the job varied and fascinating as every customer project is adapted and tailored its specific needs.
What I particularly like about working at ELOKON
I particularly enjoy the interaction with our customers and the continuously changing day-to-day work. The new challenges I face on a regular basis make my job so appealing. I have the opportunity to develop my skill set and to continuously learn something new. No two projects or customers are alike; we therefore develop individual solutions to meet every requirement. These challenges help to inspire me. I consider the team work and spirit in the company to be particularly important, just like the friendliness that prevails among colleagues.
My personal highlight at ELOKON
My personal highlight at ELOKON was my first week in the company. I was immediately introduced to all my colleagues and received a very warm welcome. After the first meeting I had the chance to experience our products in action at the customer. Following intense product training and induction I was able to carry out installations and maintenance on my own. Employees are given responsibility for performing their duties so that we can work independently and flexibly.
My way to ELOKON
After my A Level graduation in 2011, I briefly started a course in the field of public administration. But I soon realized that this corresponded neither to my expectations nor my strengths. So I was soon on the lookout for an alternative, which I eventually found in the wide-ranging and interesting vocational training at ELOKON.
Whether installation, service and maintenance - as a procurement manager in customer service I manage all appointments of our sales representatives. Furthermore, I organise trips abroad and I support the staff of our main office.
What I particularly like about working at ELOKON
The work as a procurement manager in the service department has many new challenges every day. Postponements, the current traffic situation and the wishes of our customers are just some of the issues that have a major impact on the daily schedules. But that's what I love about my job: every day is different and I often need to come up with an appropriate solution as quickly as I can in order to offer the best possible support for our customers.
My personal highlight at ELOKON
Right from the start I was impressed with the confidence that ELOKON places in its employees. I was unusual in that I started my first academic year in the second term, but thanks to the great mentoring from my instructor I was able to shorten my training period by six months and could complete this within two years.
Currently, most of our job vacancies are for Germany and Poland. Therefore, the job descriptions are in German or Polish. We are currently also actively recruiting in the UK and in the US.
