IWL Logistics Day 2018

ELOKON’s contribution to the IWL Logistics Day 2018

A busy stand and thought provoking seminar

The IWL Logistics Day is always a great opportunity for professionals from across the logistics and warehousing sectors to catch up on the latest developments and exchange ideas. This year’s event, the 14th, in Ulm, was no exception and included a wide ranging programme of seminars.

Topics

These focussed on innovation in IT, robotics and ergonomics and included topics such as flexible last mile logistics, energy efficiency and sustainability, mobile robotics and the connectivity of people and systems in Industry 4.0. With a stand in the exhibition area, ELOKON was able to present its range of safety and assistance systems to delegates during the breaks.

Learning from the automotive industry

ELOKON’s MD Alexander Glasmacher was invited to participate and his seminar looked at how the intralogistics sector can learn and profit from the development of semi-autonomous “guardian angels” used in the automotive industry. Many types of driver assistance systems, he said, have long been standard features in cars, but less so in materials handling equipment. By taking a cue from the automotive sector and fitting more of these systems to forklifts, for example, major improvements in warehouse safety can be achieved.

Many thanks to all those who visited our stand and took part in the discussion forum.

It was good to meet you!
